Farm and ranch families raising children |
Thank you for your interest in participating in this survey. Our goal is to hear from farm and ranch families like you to understand your experiences taking care of children while also working on and off the farm/ranch.
Who should fill out this survey?
Anyone who plays a role in the operation of a farm/ranch and who is the primary caregiver of children currently under the age of 18. Being a primary caregiver can take many forms including being biological, adoptive, foster, or step parents, grandparents, aunts and/or uncles, etc. Primary caregiving of the children can be done alone or with a partner.
What are we asking you to do?
- The survey should take 15 to 20-minutes to complete.
- At the end of the survey, you will have the option to enter a raffle for a chance to win a $50 check out of the 50 we will raffle. To enter the raffle, you will be invited to provide your mailing information. However, you do not have to provide your mailing information to be able to participate in the survey.
- All information will be kept confidential. The only reasonably foreseeable risk associated with your participation would be a breach of confidentiality. We have taken steps to avoid that by storing your survey responses with a coded number and not saving your contact information with the survey responses. The results will only be shared as a summary of all responses and cannot be linked back to individual responses.
Who is conducting this survey?
This project is a collaboration between researchers at the National Farm Medicine Center and at The Ohio State University with funding from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. We will use the information that you share with us to develop recommendations for farm organizations, farm service providers, and policymakers regarding future policies and programs that will better support farmers raising children.
